Walmart launches in-house generative AI tool to 50,000 employees

Walmart has introduced My Assistant, a generative AI-powered tool, for all non-store employees in the United States.

The feature is now accessible to 50,000 staff via a desktop and mobile app interface within Me@Campus, the company’s employee app. My Assistant is designed to expedite tasks such as drafting, creative collaboration and summarising extensive documents.

Walmart plans to use the tool for onboarding new hires during orientation and to enhance employees’ comprehension of company benefits during annual enrollment. The company also intends to further develop the tool to offer integrated self-service capabilities.
