Belgian start-up UZE is tackling the pain point of limited EV charging infrastructure by bringing power directly to parked cars in need of a charge.
Drawing inspiration from the convenience of food delivery, UZE employs electric cargo bikes equipped with large rapid charge battery packs to provide on-demand charging services wherever vehicles are located.
Similar to ordering takeaway food, EV owners can request a UZE service to their desired location. Upon request, an electric cargo bike, specially designed to accommodate battery packs, will arrive at the designated spot. The EV can then be charged in just 40 minutes, significantly reducing charging time compared to traditional charging stations.
UZE’s innovative model addresses the challenges faced by EV owners, offering a convenient and efficient solution to the scarcity of charging infrastructure. By bringing the charging service directly to vehicles, UZE eliminates the need for EV owners to search for available charging stations or wait in queues.
This forward-thinking approach not only streamlines the charging process but also hopes to contribute to the broader adoption of electric vehicles. By providing accessible and convenient charging options, UZE aims to ease concerns around range anxiety and promote the transition to sustainable transportation.
