Spectre is a mental wellness-focused bar on Tanjong Pagar Road, Singapore.
Designed to be a safe space and a respite from the stress of living in a city, the space features cocktails designed with talk therapy techniques, no-and-low alcohol drinks as well as those incorporated with adaptogens and natural mood boosters.
Launched as a joint venture by singer-songwriter Inch Chua and bartender and Beam Suntory regional brand ambassador Andrew Pang, the bar is designed around the Japanese concept of ‘Kintsugi’, the art of repair and a celebration of imperfection and growth.
Upon entry, guests are given a piece of paper as a welcome ritual to write down their worries, before being given a blowtorch to burn it.
The slightly unconventional seating layout encourages visitors to mingle and meet new people, using social connection to combat loneliness and boost mental health.
