Curology is an online skincare subscription platform that sends its customers personalised products based on an ongoing dialogue between the customer and a personal consultant.

Once the user has signed up, they are matched with a ‘Curology Provider’ and are asked to upload a no make-up selfie. The Curology Provider will then chat to them about their photo, their history and goals and use this information to create a personalised ‘superbottle’ tailored to their specific skincare needs.

This Provider stays with the customer throughout their subscription, adjusting the superbottle’s formula in line with ongoing feedback and updates. While exact qualifications aren’t specified, Curology claims: “Our providers see more acne sufferers every year than any other team in the country. With their combined 107 years of experience, they’re also resources for questions on cleansers, sunscreens, and how dairy affects your skin.”

The superbottle is a nightly moisturising formula designed to fight acne and ageing, with the exact mix dependant on users’ photos and input. The subscription can be boosted with a non-personalised cleanser and additional moisturiser.

On Curology’s customised ingredients, the brand says: “No drugstore product is this customised. We use your photos, your history, and your goals to pick powerful active ingredients just for you. From occasional spots to full-on breakouts, our simple once-a-day cream has you covered.”
