SimX is a virtual medical training simulator founded and run by clinicians for use in universities, hospitals and other training institutions.
Working with any VR headset, SimX offers more than 120 simulated cases covering physician, nursing and EMS training. The user is able to fully interact with virtual surroundings, communicating with patients and picking up and using equipment in the same way they would in a real-world scenario.
The platform offers individual and group training simulations and, as long as the user has a VR headset with them, they can use the programme at home.
As well as VR headsets, the platform also works with haptic handsets, recreating a sense of touch when the user interacts with virtual objects.
According to SimX, its virtual training system works out at just 10% the cost of traditional mannequin simulation.
The software tracks trainees as they complete simulations, allowing clients to track their performance over time and to facilitate post-simulation debriefs.
Since launching, SimX has already started to work with some of the most prestigious universities and institutions in the US, including NYU, Penn State University, Stanford University, Mayo Clinic, and the US Air Force.
