Notpla expands sustainable packaging line with dissolvable pipettes

UK-based Notpla creates packaging solutions made from seaweed and other plants aiming to combat plastic waste with regenerative solutions.

In mid 2024, Notpla showcased new products including dissolvable food packaging and edible sachets for liquids created from seaweed waste by-products. All of these products are designed to fully biodegrade or disintegrate in water. Harnessing the natural properties of seaweed, Notpla designed small dissolvable pipettes to hold liquids and oil, with an edible shell that can also be composted at home.

Notpla’s products are currently primarily used in the UK, with a focus on the food and personal care sectors. It is currently developing bath oil and shampoo sachets with the same promise of being easily compostable.

Notpla’s focus is on replacing harmful materials with natural, regenerative alternatives to minimise pollution and bring forth sustainable innovations that will last.
