Nivea is rolling out its first shower gel refill stations across selected stores at German retailer DM.

Customers can pick up a reusable bottle from the unit or bring their own. They then place the bottle in the marked spot and press a button to fill the bottle with shower gel. A barcode will then be printed off for the customer to place on the bottle so that they can scan it to pay for their shower gel.

While the initial pilot is being held in-store, it’s easy to see the concept having other use cases in residential buildings and other high footfall locations, such as subway or railway stations.
