Mozilla has introduced Fakespot Chat, an AI-driven assistant designed to counter the proliferation of fake online reviews.
This initiative aims to help consumers sift through misinformation and reliably access genuine online feedback and offers. The rise of fake reviews and scams online can make it significantly more difficult for consumers to make informed decisions when shopping online.
The product also includes a feature called Pros and Cons, which uses generative AI to summarise a product’s strengths and weaknesses based on lots of reviews, without the user having to browse through hundreds of different individual pieces of feedback.
Accessible through the Fakespot Analyzer or its browser extension on Amazon.com, Fakespot Chat offers users a useful tool for navigating and scrutinising product information in the face of increasingly prevalent fake reviews online.
