To celebrate the opening of its new Chinese headquarters and flagship restaurant location in Shanghai, McDonald’s China has released a range of NFTs inspired by the building.
The Big Mac Rubik’s Cube NFTs were modelled on the shape of the new HQ and were gifted to 188 randomly selected customers and staff members.
The NFTs were created on the Conflux blockchain network in collaboration with the cryptocurrency development firm Cocafe.
The headquarters will be used by 600 McDonald’s employees and includes an innovation lab and the brand’s seventh Hamburger University for staff training.
The flagship restaurant is McDonald’s biggest in China and includes some interesting hybrid features, such as a library for kids and a theatre space that will host live performances.
