KFC has created a limited-edition 11 Herbs & Spices Firelog that emits the smell of fried chicken when thrown on the fire.

The firelog cost $18.99 (including tax, shipping and handling) on www.kfcfirelogs.com and sold out within hours.

It was created by Enviro-Log, a leading manufacturer of firelogs, using 100% recycled materials. It can burn up to three hours and doesn’t expire. The company’s website humorously describes the item as “dramatically less wasteful and significantly more effective at making your home smell like fried chicken than burning actual fried chicken.”

KFC U.S. chief marketing officer Andrea Zahumensky has said that the company has “always been proud of our role in bringing loved ones together at the dinner table around a bucket of our world-famous fried chicken. Now, this winter we’re bringing all the things we love – family, friends and fried chicken – together around the fire with our scented firelog.”

KFC added in a statement: “The smell of the Colonel’s Original Recipe fried chicken is unmistakable.”
