H&M Move partners with LanzaTech to make clothes using captured emissions

H&M Move, in collaboration with carbon capture company LanzaTech, is incorporating captured emissions into its garments.

By combining LanzaTech’s carbon capture technology with H&M Move’s proprietary DryMove material, the brand is able to create clothing that not only keeps the wearer comfortable and dry during physical activity but also contributes to reducing pollution and the use of fossil resources.

Through a three-step process, carbon emissions from steel mills are captured, converted into building blocks similar to traditional polyester, and used in the production of H&M Move’s upcoming women’s collection.

The collection, consisting of a jumpsuit, a top, and tights, showcases a sleek and contemporary design inspired by the athluxury movement. With contrasting seams and creative cut-outs, these all-black garments combine style and sustainability.

H&M Move is a new sportswear brand from Swedish fashion giant H&M, launched in summer 2022. LanzaTech has also previously partnered with Lululemon and Zara.
