Responding to the social media age mantra of “pictures or it didn’t happen”, Hilton Hotel in the UAE has started giving its staff special photography training so they can capture the perfect digital memento for each visitor.

As part of the Hilton Waitographer programme, staff at select hotels in the region have been enrolled in a training course with renowned photographer Roger Moukerzal. On the course, the Hilton staff learn best practice tips about the best lighting and angles to use when taking group shots and photos of people sitting around tables. They also learn about the best filters to use.

Once staff have passed the course they receive a special Waitographer badge to highlight their expertise. It also works as a visual cue, making diners feel they have permission to ask the staff member to take their picture.
