As the centrepiece of its latest pop-up in eastern Seoul, Korea, Gentle Monster debuted a model of a giant human.
Celebrating the release of its BOLD collection, the brand opened a pop-up in a hanger-like space in the Korean city featuring an ultra-realistic statue of a giant. Visitors could get right up close to the statue, which lay on its back across the middle of the space, measuring around 20 metres long.
Details including realistic skin texture and eyelashes added to the sense of uncanniness in the installation, and made the pop-up feel closer to an art exhibition than a retail showcase.
To encourage dwell time, a bar served refreshments including iced coffee and several exclusive drinks. Low atmospheric lighting built on the otherworldly feel, encouraging visitors to take lots of photos for sharing on social media.
