Award-winning gynaecological health start-up Daye is launching the world’s first virtual Period Pain Clinic to help women and assigned female at birth (AFAB) individuals to identify the cause of their period pain and access diagnostic information.
Period pain affects 90% of women, and a study by University College London (UCL) shows that it can be as painful as a heart attack. However, many suffer in silence, with 57% reporting its impact on their ability to work.
Recognising menstrual pain as a significant health concern, London-based Daye advocates for attention, support and timely medical interventions for people suffering from chronic period pain. Working together with NHS GPs, gynaecologists and pelvic pain specialists, the female-founded start-up introduces the Period Pain Clinic (PPC). This groundbreaking service conducts comprehensive symptom assessments and offers private consultations with a wide range of specialists, including sexual health nurses, gynaecologists, pelvic pain and fertility experts, nutritionists, dermatologists, breathwork coaches, acupuncturists, and more.
Healthcare professionals facilitate quicker diagnosis of the root causes of period pain, such as endometriosis, adenomyosis, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), fibroids and other conditions related to chronic pelvic pain. They also address connected symptoms like infertility, hair loss, obesity and severe acne, which often remain unmanaged.
The Period Pain Clinic recommends evidence-based symptom management tools, including prescribed CBD tampons, TENS machines, pelvic floor trainers, acupuncture, hormonal contraception, and more. Daye has partnered with leading pioneers in pain management, such as Myoovi, to provide discounts on the recommended products, making the service both accessible and affordable.
