Corona, the Mexican beer brand synonymous with beaches, is capitalising on its association with sunshine by launching a health-conscious beer infused with Vitamin D. Corona Sunbrew is a 0.0% alcohol-free beer that contains 30% of the daily recommended dose of Vitamin D and has just 60 calories in each bottle.
“The feeling of the sun is one of the things people love most about the outdoors and the Corona brand is always innovating to remind them of that feeling,” said Global VP Felipe Ambra.
Sunbrew was introduced in Canada this winter, with plans to expand into other global markets in the future.
The launch reflects a shift in the beverage industry towards more health-conscious alternatives to satisfy consumers who want to socialise without drinking alcohol. Corona’s brand operator has stated a desire for non-alcoholic beverages to account for 20% of its portfolio, which is more than double its current total.
