British fashion brand Anya Hindmarch has opened The Village, a cluster of five stores on Pont Street in London.
One store, named the Village Hall, will change regularly throughout the year, serving effectively as a permanent pop-up space for the brand. Its first guise will be as a hair salon where customers will be served coffee and cocktails as they get their hair done.
The Labelled Shop, There’s The Plastic Shop and The Bespoke Shop, will stock the brand’s labelled cases and bags, its sustainable collection, and its personalised gifts respectively. The fifth space will be the brand’s café.
Opening a network of five stores situated close to one another is an interesting move. Compared to opening a single, larger store, it may present a lower risk to the brand by making it easier to offload store space in the future if any one element doesn’t work out. It also enables Anya Hindmarch to test new services in isolation to assess what has been successful and what has not.
In May 2023, the brand launched its first ceramics collection at concept store Bull in a China Shop within the Village. The hand-painted collection focusing on playful yet beautiful pieces to add character to kitchens and other areas in the home.
