Hong Kong-based travel and experiences site Klook has teamed up with social platform TikTok to enable users in seven Southeast Asian markets and Japan to book travel experiences directly through the social app.
Klook’s “Kreator” influencer programme is an influencer marketing platform that enlists users to share travel deals and discounts on their respective platforms as a Klook affiliate. Anyone with over 5,000 followers can sign up to become a “Kreator” and will receive a unique promo code to share with their audience, earning commissions on bookings and access to sponsored travel events and experiences. This has led to Klook signing up over 20,000 content creators who share their travel deals with viewers, who can easily take advantage of the deals without leaving the app.
This programme takes advantage of the influence of social media on travel behaviour while providing a seamless way for users to access deals. Over half of Gen Z travellers rely on social platforms to discover new destinations and experiences. Digital influencers such as the Klook “Kreators” play a significant role in shaping these decisions, with over 80% of travellers basing their bookings on online reviews and recommendations from content creators, according to Klook’s research.
