In April 2023, social commerce platform Poshmark launched Posh Shows, making peer-to-peer livestream shopping available on the platform.
The new feature is available in the US and Canada, and lets users host a livestream auction to showcase the contents of their closet. The feature is part of an effort by Poshmark to capitalise on its growing audience of 100 million users, introducing new ways for sellers to generate more revenue. It’s designed to act as an extension of the platform’s other features, blending in while offering new ways for users to engage.
The feature makes livestream shopping accessible to more sellers, allowing them to leverage real-time shopping to boost sales and increase engagement with their audiences. Buyers can bundle items with purchases from different shows to get cheaper shipping rates.
The addition of livestream shopping came in the wake of the success of other video formats on the platform, such as user stories and video listings. “There is a level of humanity that’s brought out during live interactions,” says Manish Chandra, founder and CEO of Poshmark.
