Thule reveals baby stroller fitted with an air purifier to combat pollution

Swedish travel accessories brand Thule has introduced a stroller designed to address the impact of air pollution on babies and children.

Named the Thule Shine Air Purifier Canopy, the accessory attaches to Thule’s Shine stroller and uses quiet fans and HEPA filters to draw in polluted air and release purified air around the baby on board.

Able to filter 150 litres of air per minute, the canopy comes with an app that displays real-time air quality inside and outside the stroller, sending alerts to parents when it’s time to replace the filter. The air purification system itself was developed by Bubl, another Swedish company that launched its standalone stroller air purifier in 2022.

This innovation seeks to address the unique vulnerability of young children to air pollution due to their close proximity to the ground, increased breathing rate and ongoing organ development. By providing a cleaner and safer environment, the Thule Shine Air Purifier Canopy looks to offer peace of mind to parents concerned about their children’s exposure to pollutants while out and about.
