InsideJob is a recruitment platform using short videos to help companies and employees find a great match.
When signing up, both companies and applicants create a two-minute video showcasing the best they have to offer. For companies this could be showing off office culture, information about the job, salary and benefits, while applicants can highlight their experience, qualifications and personality in their own videos. As well as providing a more human touch, this innovative recruitment method not only saves companies time by facilitating an initial screening of candidates but also attracts more qualified and motivated profiles.
Interestingly, it is the candidates who pay a subscription fee to access job offers on the platform. Monthly subscriptions range from €0.99 for students to €2.99 for the standard plan, which includes offers for permanent and fixed-term positions.
While this approach may initially seem unconventional, it fosters a foundation of trust right from the beginning of the job search process. Seeing recruiters through videos helps alleviate candidate stress and brings a human touch that other platforms may lack. Additionally, candidates can gain insights into the work environment, allowing them to assess if it aligns with their expectations. If a potential match arises, recruiters can offer a video interview or initiate contact through the candidate’s InsideJob profile, eliminating the need for exchanging phone numbers and enabling a seamless initial exchange.
The short video format is strongly reminiscent of TikTok, speaking directly to Gen Z candidates by adopting a layout and format they are already well versed in.
