Roku partners with DoorDash to let viewers order food straight from the TV screen

A multi-year partnership between TV streaming provider Roku and food delivery service DoorDash will see customers able to order food straight from the screen.

Announced in February 2023, the partnership integrates DoorDash’s food delivery services directly into the Roku platform. This integration allows Roku users to order food from DoorDash’s network of local restaurants through their TV, using the Roku remote or mobile device.

DoorDash will be the exclusive partner for ‘click-to-order’ offers for restaurants and grocers that buy interactive ads on Roku, allowing viewers to order delivery right from the couch. Fast food restaurant Wendy’s will be the first partner as the service launches.

This partnership aims to provide a convenient and seamless experience for Roku users to order food while they are watching their favourite shows or movies. The integration with DoorDash’s platform makes it easy for Roku users to order food without having to leave their entertainment experience and navigate to another app or website.

The integration also allows DoorDash to reach a wider audience through Roku’s large user base, as one of the leading TV streaming platforms in the market. This partnership is expected to drive new customers to DoorDash and also help Roku users to have access to a wider variety of food options.
