International furniture company Andreu World is first in the design sector to have all its collections (6,830 designs) become Cradle to Cradle Certified, a mark of their safety and circularity. For example sofas and armchairs can be disassembled and recycled at the end of their lifespans.
The scale of Andreu World production makes this a particularly significant achievement. The brand is responsible for furnishing some of the tech world’s biggest brands, such as Google’s Hyderabad, India office, Uber’s and YouTube’s San Francisco headquarters, and some Amazon outposts.

Andreu World is also a carbon-neutral business and it was the first to use bioplastics in the manufacture of furniture and launch a 100% FSC wood range. The company’s goal is 100% circularity by 2025.
Since 80% of a product’s environmental impact is decided at the design stage, Andreu World’s changes can really make a difference. “It is not enough to know how to manufacture and sell a piece of furniture, we must be responsible until the end of its life, anticipating that each of its parts, when no longer useful, may be separated to facilitate recycling or repair,” says the team. “Sustainable growth is only possible in a circular economy, and that is our priority objective.”
