Newly-opened NFT Factory in Paris is a Web3 space to discover NFTs, network and build projects. The three-story physical space sits directly opposite Paris’ cultural hub Centre Pompidou and is the brainchild of John Karp, entrepreneur behind the annual Non Fungible Conference and hackathon.com, and Lucie-Eleonore Riveron, co-founder of French auction house Fauve-Paris who launched France’s first public NFT art auction in March 2022.
The company launched with a public NFT art exhibition curated by the founder of the Museum of Crypto Art and is also hosting discovery workshops ranging from setting up a wallet to minting an NFT. Experts are on hand to answer questions much like at Apple’s ‘genius bar.’ The lower ground floor is an education and training space which offers seminars, debates and artist residencies, while the first floor houses an investors’ club, i.e. a meeting and co-working space for members.
The NFT Factory’s goal is to educate the general public, connect the NFT community and build the French Web3 ecosystem through support of emerging projects and start-ups. “The endgame is 40 million wallets,” said Karp. “In six to eight years there will be a billion users with wallets. You will connect your wallet to a website instead of opening an account. Token drops will replace requests for email data or social media follows.”
