Prada releases first jewellery line with blockchain technology

Prada has released its first line of jewellery, each piece of which can be scanned using Aura Consortium Blockchain technology, which reveals each piece’s entire source to store journey. According to Prada, the scannable chip technology is the first within the fine jewellery world. Pieces in the collection are made of 100 per cent recycled gold and peppered with pavé diamonds, which are entirely certified, verifiable and traceable. Prada jewellery director Timothy Iwata asserts that “transparency is the benchmark of sustainability,” in reference to an authentication card that is included with every purchased fine jewellery piece.
