Italian fast food restaurant Bun Burger worked with Spanish design agency Masquespacio to bring a more premium and experiential feel to its location in the Brera district of Milan.
Challenging the aesthetic norms of the category, the theatrical design is inspired by the swimming pool and uses square tiles and design details such as a pool ladder and seating that mimics pool-side seating throughout.
Each zone of the restaurant has a different design, mixing vibrant hues of pink, purple and green, with reflective surfaces. The most eye-catching room has white tiles on the bottom half of the wall and a mirrored finish on the top half and ceiling that reflects pink and purple hues. This creates the illusion of light reflecting off the shimmering ripples of a pool offering a unique experience to all dining in the space.
Bun Burger sits at a slightly higher price point than mass-market fast food chains. Its range of tradition and Beyond burger meals cost between €9-14.
