Nourish Hub is a community kitchen and learning space in Hammersmith, West London, that has been created from a row of vacant shop units.
Architects RCKa designed the space for charity UKHarvest, which uses food as a means of delivering social impact.
The space is located in the London borough with the highest dependency on food banks, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Nourish Hub’s mission is to serve as a community space offering opportunities to local residents.
In addition to providing food to locals in need, Nourish Hub will also serve as a space for the community to practice cooking skills and learn about nutrition. It includes commercial and teaching kitchens, and its main space can be repurposed to serve as a dining room, classroom, workspace or event venue according to what’s taking place that day.
Residents will also be able to get help from Nourish Hub’s staff in accessing jobs in the food industry.
