Garnier has launched a new line of ‘no-rinse’ conditioners, which it is framing as the sustainable choice by encouraging customers to use less water in their beauty routines.

Available In four formulas, Garnier’s no-rinse conditioners are estimated by the brand to save up to 100 litres of water per bottle compared to a traditional bottle of conditioner. This is a combined effect of the customer not using water to wash out the conditioner, and of Garnier’s carbon neutral waterloop factories that make the conditioners.

In addition, the range is packaged in cardboard integrated tubes that use 75% less plastic, providing an overall carbon footprint that is 92% smaller than a traditional 200ml bottle of conditioner, according to the brand.

Leave-in or no-rinse conditioners are not new themselves, but Garnier’s reframing of them as a water-saving option for sustainably-minded consumers is, and now that a new generation of consumers is reprioritising sustainability over other factors when purchasing beauty products, it is possible that this format could resonate better with consumers than it has in the past.
