Jo Malone has launched solid perfume blocks that users can mix on their skin to create a personalised scent.
The portable Fragrance Combining Palette has two slots, where customers can place their two favourite Jo Malone scents. These include Nectarine Blossom & Honey, Oud & Bergamot, Mimosa & Cardamom, and many more. The solid fragrances can be worn on their own or layered on the skin to create a custom scent.
Jo Malone also offers three ready-made pairings: The Luscious Pair, combining Mellow English Pear & Freesia with Flirtatious Peony & Blush Suede, The Alluring Pair, and The Delicious Pair.
While the use of solid perfumes is hardly innovative (ointment-like unguents have been applied to the skin for fragrance since Egyptian times), it is noteworthy that more and more major brands are starting to offer the product. Jo Malone’s launch follows in the wake of solid scents being released by Glossier, Burberry Beauty, Diptyque and Tom Ford.
The Fragrance Combining Palette retails at £24, while individual solid scents range between £14 and £16. Scent pairings cost £52 or £54.
